January is Radon Awareness Month. Did you know that exposure to radon gas can cause lung cancer the same as smoking cigarettes? Local officials in many municipalities are encouraging homeowners to test for this silent killer as in some areas, up to 70% of homes have radon levels which are considered unsafe.
