Spring is finally here and for many homeowners that means spring cleaning around the house. Your garage is always an easy hideaway and items accumulated during the year can make it messy and impractical. Spring is the perfect time for you to get your garage back to its former glory. So today, we have Remodeler TV Blog follower Natalie Miller with these Spring Cleaning Tips To Freshen Up Your Garage Space:

  • Empty Your Garage – You will have to do it sooner or later, no matter whether you want to. Everything should be taken out of your garage in order for you to be able to clean it efficiently and finally put some order inside it. Arrange your garage items into suitable areas in and around your house and get rid of the junk you will never use again. Doing this will help you save space and stay more organized, plus it will ease the spring cleaning task as well.

  • Give It a Thorough CleaningPeople rarely deep clean their garages and often end up with a dirt-layer over every surface inside it. Once you remove all the stuff from your garage, you will probably see the dusty outlines of your boxes and tools. Use your vacuum cleaner to get rid of all those dust bunnies and spider webs with or without insects trapped there.

  • Loosen the build ups of dirt with the help of a powerful nozzle. Start from the back of your garage and spray the filth towards the driveway. Then use a broom to push the remaining water out and help the floor of your garage dry more quickly. Leave the door and the windows open overnight to improve ventilation and to make sure your garage is completely dry. The next morning it should be absolutely clean, wet-free and ready for further spring refreshment.

  • Install storage units – After you have decluttered and spring cleaned your garage, now it is time to install some organizing and storage units – shelves, differently sized storage bins, drawers, racks, hooks, etc. Whatever you think might restore the order in your garage definitely has a place inside. A clever organizing idea is to let only your car and larger equipment touch the floor. Everything else you can store, arrange and even label the units to find and put things back swiftly.

When you empty out your garage, it’s a good time to add some insulation. This video from the Today’s Home Remodeler TV series featuring Rockweiler Insulation explains how to insulate a garage wall. It has over 15,000 views on YouTube!
